Swatch Service Update

As Yardblox continues to grow, we regularly review our processes to ensure they remain sustainable and aligned with how we best serve our customers. After careful consideration, we have made changes to our sampling system to better support both business and retail customers while keeping our operations sustainable as a small team.

This was not a decision made lightly, but one that allows us to support brands and production customers more effectively while maintaining operational balance.

For years, offering swatches has been something we’ve been proud of. It aligned with everything we believe in — thoughtful buying, slower fashion, and helping you truly understand a fabric before committing.

But as we’ve grown, we’ve had to take a hard look at what is sustainable for us as a small team. And the truth is, our swatch service in its previous form was no longer sustainable as our order volume increased.

What’s Changing

Starting March 2026, we no longer offer individual swatches.

Instead, we have introduced two new ways to sample our fabrics:

For business customers and brands:
You can now purchase full color cards for each fabric style. These include all available colors for that style and are designed to support sampling, development, and production planning.

For retail customers and home sewists:
You can still explore our fabrics through our curated swatch packs, including our best selling fabrics, best fabrics for T-shirts and Polo shirts, Underwear, Outdoor fabrics, and Japanese denim collections and many more. We will continue expanding these packs over time to help customers explore our range and discover new fabrics.

Why We Made This Change

Behind the scenes, sampling takes far more time and resources than most people realise. As our order volume has grown, swatches quietly became one of the most time-intensive parts of our operations. That time started pulling us away from sourcing stronger collections, improving stock availability, and supporting our growing number of brands and production customers.

We’re a small independent fabric store. It’s just us and our small team. And sometimes growth requires making difficult but necessary decisions. This was one of them.

This change allows us to continue growing, sourcing better fabrics, and supporting both small sewists and clothing brands in a more sustainable way.

Sampling Options Going Forward

Individual swatches are no longer available
Business customers can purchase full color cards per style Retail customers can purchase curated swatch packs All fabrics are still available to order from 1 yard if you wish to test a fabric

Thank You

We know changes like this can be disappointing for some customers, and this decision came after a lot of thought.

We’re still here.
We’re still sourcing.
We’re still obsessed with beautiful fabrics.

Just in a way that allows us to grow responsibly.

Thank you for understanding.

The Yardblox Team
