As Yardblox continues to grow, we regularly review our processes to ensure they remain sustainable and aligned with how we best serve our customers. After careful consideration, we have decided to transition our swatch service to a business-only model.
This was not a decision made lightly, but one that allows us to support brands and production customers more effectively while maintaining operational balance.
For years, offering swatches has been something we’ve been proud of. It aligned with everything we believe in, thoughtful buying, slower fashion, and helping you truly understand a fabric before committing.
But as we’ve grown, we’ve had to take a hard look at what is sustainable for us as a small team. And the truth is… our swatch service, in its current form, is no longer sustainable for general orders.
What’s Changing
Starting April 1, 2026, swatches will no longer be available for general retail orders but will remain avaialble for verified business customers and brands.
We work closely with independent brands, designers, and production teams, and sampling remains an essential part of that process. We will continue supporting our business clients with swatches as part of their development and sourcing workflow.
Why We’re Making This Change
Behind the scenes, swatches take far more time and resources than we originally anticipated. As our order volume has grown, swatches have quietly become one of the most time-intensive parts of our operations. That time has started pulling us away from sourcing stronger collections, improving stock availability, and supporting our growing brand customers properly.
We’re a small independent fabric store. It’s just us and our small team. And sometimes growth requires making difficult but necessary decisions. This was one of them.
Final Date for Retail Swatch Orders
The final date to place retail swatch orders will be March 31, 2026. After that, swatches will only be available to approved business customers.
Our curated swatch packs will still be available for anyone looking for inspiration available swatch packs include our best sellers swatch pack, outdoor fabric swatch pack and Japanese denim swatch pack. Our aim is to create more swatch packs in the future to help you make informed decisions.
If you’ve been meaning to order swatches for upcoming projects, sampling, or future plans, please make sure you place your order before the cut-off.
